The particular scheme is measure 7.3 and all details can be found through the link here. Up to £128,000 is available as grant aid to develop your own broadband infrastructure. Monmouthshire Business and Enterprise collaborate with the UK Government, the Welsh Government and Internet Service Providers to seek the best Broadband provision possible across the County.
The County of Monmouthshire benefitted from the Superfast Cymru broadband roll out programme which was completed December 31st 2017. The next phase of this scheme is likely to open towards the end of 2018 and will run until the end of 2020. Currently £80M is available to cover the remaining white areas in Wales. The superfast broadband second phase will be delivered through an open competitive tender so that Internet Service Providers as well as BT can offer their superfast broadband services in the County.
Residents are encouraged to visit the Superfast Cymru website and to sign up for updates to get the latest information on when superfast broadband will be available where you live.
The Access Broadband Cymru (ABC) scheme provides grants to help improve broadband in Wales.
The scheme complements the Superfast Cymru programme where the Welsh Government is working in partnership with BT to deliver fast fibre broadband across Wales. If you are not yet able to receive superfast broadband then you may be able to get connected via their Access Broadband Cymru scheme.
This scheme provides grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of new broadband connections for homes in Wales. It does not include monthly rental costs. New connections through this scheme must deliver a step change in speed – with at least double your current download speeds eg a current connection of 10Mbps must improve to at least 20Mbps.
The amount of funding you can receive depends on the speed of the new connection:
