Monmouthshire County Council’s Youth Enterprise team is delivering work-based learning opportunities to young people aged 16-19, not currently in education, employment or training. The Engagement and Traineeship programme offers learners the opportunity to participate in work–based learning opportunities, enabling learners to progress at the earliest opportunity to either employment or further learning at a higher level.
The engagement programme is for learners who are not yet focussed on work, and provides a package of work experiences tailored to their needs. Learners receive a training allowance of £30 a week and attend the programme for 21 hours.
The traineeship programme is for learners who are ready for work and have a chosen area of work they wish to pursue. Learners receive a training allowance of £50 a week and attend the programme 30 hours.
